Event Description

The Black Brunch NJ, owned by fellow entrepreneur L’Oreal Drayton, is an exclusive all-black-attire networking event organization for small business owners and entrepreneurs. This quarterly event happens throughout New Jersey with a select theme. Their April event was dedicated to the “Jack of All Trades, Master of All”, for those entrepreneurs who run two or more businesses. I was honored and quite excited to join L’Oreal and The Black Brunch NJ for this event, and I had quite a bit to say…

Speech Highlights:

“Would I do anything differently? No. Because it, the people I met, and the lessons I learned helped groom me into who I am now. And I will continue to evolve because of my experiences, and that is something that we should all be ok with. We are who we are and should all be striving to be better. An entrepreneur is the ultimate chameleon, adapting to change, constantly figuring out the best way to do things, and trying to wear all the hats…”

“4 takeaway’s: (1) Take risks but ask questions – Don’t be afraid to leap, but don’t try to figure out how to open your parachute after you’ve already jumped. (2) It’s not about you – Other peoples actions and words is more about them than it will ever be about you. (3) Do what you love – life is too short to do anything else. (4) Don’t let other people influence your journey – let the naysayers stay where they are.”

“I won’t forget my place in life again, and if by chance I do, God will send me a reminder for me to understand the overall picture.” – Neffi Walker

“Don’t settle for a life that is less than you want or deserve.” – Myleik Teele
