Last week was Housing Works’ much anticipated 14th annual Design On A Dime fundraising event. Just in case you don’t know, Housing Works is an amazing organization that provides healthcare, housing, and much more to those living with HIV and AIDS in New York. To say that I was ecstatic to be asked to be a featured designer for Design On A Dime and join more than 70 other designers to create a vignette, is an understatement. Not only was I able to give back to an amazing charity, but I was able to creatively do whatever I wanted (every designers dream). So, I worked with my favorite vendors to create a vignette with a concept that I thought would be perfect to help accomplish Housing Works’ mission, Soulful Vibes.
What is the concept of Soulful Vibes? A space that feels good emotionally, mentally, and spiritually using luxe fabrics, mixed metals, organic elements, and of course great art. And thanks to the generous donations of donors everywhere from California to New Jersey, the vision became a reality.
Needless to say with only a day and a half to unpack and install, it was a whirlwind experience that I would happily do again! And luckily I had amazing, and extremely fit, help for all of it thanks to Nikki Griggs of Fit Girl Nikki who donated 3 days of her time and well as a monetary donation for decor!
